Meet Rex Bumpus
Land Specialist | Outdoorsman
Rex Bumpus was raised in the heart of the Texas Hill Country in Lampasas, where his love for the outdoors and nearly every form of hunting took root early. From a young age, Rex spent his time exploring ranches across Lampasas, San Saba, Mills, Hamilton, and Burnet counties — an experience that became the foundation for his lifelong passion and professional calling in land and ranch real estate.
After several years working hands-on in ranching, Rex pursued a degree at Texas A&M University in College Station, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Ecology & Management. While still at A&M, Rex earned his Texas real estate license and shortly after graduation, returned to Lampasas to open Bumpus Real Estate.
In 2008, Rex and his brother Ron partnered under the Mossy Oak Properties banner, a chapter that continued until 2025 when they teamed up with their older brother Rob to launch Bumpus Ranch & Residential, bringing together decades of land knowledge, sales experience, and deep Central Texas roots.
In addition to real estate, Rex works with Phil McCormick Appraisal, specializing in ranch appraisals. He also manages wildlife and hunting operations on more than 60,000 acres across Texas, overseeing lease programs and habitat management for a dozen ranches. His academic background in rangeland management, coupled with years of boots-on-the-ground experience and appraisal work, uniquely positions him to serve both land buyers and sellers with a high level of insight and integrity.
When he’s not working, Rex enjoys hunting hogs with his well-trained dogs, spending time with family, and being outdoors. He’s the proud father of three boys — Mason, McKane, and Pryce — and recently became engaged to his fiancé, Camry.
